P2 Fashion: Unique Cartier Engagement Ring

Is this not the most mouth-watering engagement ring ever? My jaw dropped when I saw this Cartier setting. My husband has never been fully satisfied with the setting he created for my original engament ring -- I think it's wonderful. For nearly the entire length of our almost five-year marriage, he's wanted to change it. I'm quite sentamental, so I've refused. Not only that, he wants me to pick what I want and that goes against my core. I know it's quite common for gals to know and strongly hint (sometimes even shop) for their own rings, but I find that boring.

So, WHY am I posting this image? While doing research for my monthly style curation project with the HYATT Union Square Hotel New York, a press release led me to a website which led me to another website and finally to this stunner.
The swirling loops of pave diamonds sing to me. Seariously, I'm hearing Bach in the background and having a major moment. What do you think?

P2 Beauty: At Your Doorstep Salon with Glamsquad App

As a busy mom, it's not easy to squeeze in a hair appointment - even when you work mostly from home. I've had to SOS, beg stylists to come to my house at odd hours of the day! Now, my graveling days are over thanks to Glamsquad, a new app that will do for the beauty industry what Seamless Web has done for ordering takeout - make life convenient.

First, decide on a hair style from their curated menu, created by Glamsquad Creative Director and former former Senior Stylist at Frederic Fekkai Giovanni Vaccaro, Then, plug in your location (currently only offered in NYC and part of Brooklyn), desired time of appointment and credit card information. A 20% gratuity will automatically be added, so there is no need for cash. You can set up an appointment ten days in advance, or as short notice as one hour. Considering the at-your-door, VIP service, pricing is very reasonable by New York standards - blowouts $50, braids $75, up-dos $85-$125.

More cities will be added in the near future, as well as additional glam services.

PS At last week's launch party, I had my favorite sidekick, Ms. Ilana Rose. She was amazing, clapping during the presentation and smiling as mommy got her hair braided. Then, she was all too excited to snatch my swag bag. Fortunately, I don't mid sharing with my princess.

P2 Beauty: Stay at Home Mom Glow & Smile Style

As a newly crowned stay-at-home mom, – we let go of our nanny for reasons I will not share because my mother taught me not to promote negativity – I can truly speak to simple ways to live an Always Be Your Best You lifestyle because I get how precious time is and what we women need to do in order to carve out moments for ourselves.

In the morning, my daughter wakes up and claps or plays with her fingers for about 10-15 minutes. I firmly believe this is because a) my husband and I set a calm atmosphere around her and 2) we taught her that time alone isn't a bad thing. Those 10-15 minutes** give me time to do a good one-minute stretch, brush my teeth with my beloved Crest 3D White toothpaste (a bright smile is an essential accessory for a stylish, happy day) while practicing side and back leg lifts (I know you have to see this in video to understand), and put on my diamond, star-stud earrings.  Then, when Ilana goes down for her 9:00-10:30am nap, I quickly shower, rub some Mama Mio Tummy Rub Oil (baby #2 !!) and put on my home makeup look. Yes, I wear makeup at home even though nobody is around. It makes me feel wonderful and ready for the day. By 9:30am I’m at my desk, with the baby monitor by my side, and a laundry load already set and spinning.

What do you do to feel beautiful at home?  Share your #SmileStyle solutions on Twitter, and tell me and @3DWhite how you steal the spotlight in your world.

** PS If you don’t have that 10-15 minute window of clap time, follow the sage advice of the fabulous June Ambrose – “wake before the quake”. I live for this rockstar mom and her witty tidbits. You must follow her on Instagram for stylish, parenting tips, as she most definitely embodies my Always Be Your Best You philosophy.

P2 Family: Another Baby Bump

Happy Monday and Good Morning! I’ve been up since 6:45am feeding and playing with baby Ilana. She’s growing up so fast; I can’t believe we are already planning the 1-year birthday party. Fortunately, I’ll be able to relive those first few baby-month-milestones very soon.

Oh, did I mention I'm pregnant, again?!!!!!!

Showing off the 3-month belly on my babymoon.
PS The first trimester was brutal, which is why I've been MIA on this blog, on TV and just about everywhere else. So, it turns out having one after the other requires a bit more rest than I anticipated. Off to bed for 45 minutes before Ilana Rose gets up from her morning nap. :-)

P2 Home: Unique Hostess Gift Ideas

Can you believe Monday is Columbus Day? Before you can blink the holiday season will be upon us. I'm not about to push holiday shopping on you; that's what the retailers are already doing. But, in an effort to calm myself (not going to lie, I've had crazy anxiety over the past two weeks - and I'll blame it on the baby because she'll blame   on me for the rest of my life!) I thought it would be wise to start thinking about hostess gifts. To quote my lovely sister "just have it ready!"  UncommonGoods is one of my favorite  destinations for quirky gifts that always get the "where-did-you-get-that" comment.

Rainbow Hors d'oeurves Set $44 -- I already own this and it's fabulous for fruits, cheese and non-drip appetizers. I'm stressing the obvious "non drip", but i made that new housewives mistake two years ago.
Slate Cheese Boards with Soapstone Chalk $29  -- Don't you just hate when you don't know what cheese you're about to try? As a hostess, I also sometimes forget what I've places on the plate in my haste to prep and throw away all wrapping.
Footed Bowl $28 -- With this bowl, everyone will forget you didn't pick up the cake and are just serving fruits.

P2 Fashion: 1:Face Watch Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

When October starts, it's impossible to avoid magazine articles, blog posts and TV segments promoting pink products that promote charities associated with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Small and mega brands all clamor to support this cause, and, let's face it, hope to catch a little of the media buzz associated with it. I'm not knocking the business strategy or negating that motives aside, the end result is what counts.

That being said, after a decade of being part of the machine that pushes pink products, this year, I've decide to only promote BCA merchandise that's: a) really cool b) donates 60% or more to a charity and/or c) has a meaningful/personal story.

1:Face Watch is a really simple concept with a sizable impact. Buy a watch, and watch change happen. Currently, they have seven different styles, each associated with it's own charity. The dark pink watch supports the National Breast Cancer Foundation, an organization committed to early detection and awareness. For every nine watches sold, one woman gets a much needed mammogram. Know exactly how the money is being spent makes me feel better about the purchase. The tempered glass screen watches retail for $40.
